Namitha
Now the movie Jaganmohini is going to be remade again and is going to be directed by N K Viswanathan. Namitha
In an era bounded with lots of fantastic remakes, happens to be so unique of its genre. Year's back, one of the eminent auteurs Vittalacharya spelled an exceptional flick 'Jagan Mohini' based on mythological lines. Perhaps, the film churned out in early 70s was untouched by top-charting contemporary filmmakers as they felt it to be off complications.
Even so, Filmmaker N.K. Viswanathan remakes it roping the best computer generated graphics of latest trends. Featuring Namitha in lead role, something had really concerned Viswanathan and that was all about making a fast beat Kuthu number that will feature and ace actress Jayamalini. Nevertheless, the actress refused this offer due to age factor.
Know who's the one replacing her now?
It's none other than the pretty actress sister of Jayamalini who's been sizzling with their stunning dances all throughout these ages and that's more illustrious with her moments in 'Muthu' and 'Sedhu'…Here's something more relevant between the original and remake version of Jagan Mohini…Initially Vittalacharya madethe film in Telugu and witnessing the success dubbed it into Tamil. On the pars, Viswanathan remakes the film in Tamil and dubs it for Telugu version with the same title…
Kamalinee
Kamaline Mukherjee is keen and confident to make a strong comeback to Tamil Cinema. The young actress, who made a mark for herself acting with Kamal Haasan in 'Vettaiyadu Vilayadu', ventured to Telugu filmdom and did a handful of films.
After a brief interval, she is back to Kollywood to do a movie for Raj Television Network. She has played the female lead in 'Kadhal Na Summa Illai' - a remake of the Telugu hit 'Ghamyam'. The Tamil version features Ravikrishna and Sharvanand.
Since 'Ghamyam' was a blockbuster in Tollywood, Kamalinee hopes that it would recreate the same magic in Tamilnadu as well.
When queried as to why it has been a long time since she was seen in a film, the actress says, ' I did get some offers here. But I wanted them to be meaningful. I don't want to do movies just for the sake of doing them'.
'Kadhal Na Summa Illai' will go on to become a hit, she says.
Tabu
Has the Dhanush- Suraj remake of Rajinkanth's Maappillai changed hands from producer ?
The buzz is that Vijay Vauhini Productions are the new producers of the film?
The Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that after Cheran's Pokkisham catastrophe, producer Hitesh Jabak is in no longer interested in producing Maappillai for which he had the rights.
Now it looks like, if all goes well, Dhanush's Padikkathavan producers Vijay Vauhini Productions may take up the production of Maappillai, which has Hansika Motwani in the female lead.
Tabu is the front runner to play mother-in-law in the film.
NICOLE
Remember the pretty lead lady of Adada Enna Azhagu? Her name is Nicole, and there is a reason she is thus named! "My mother loves NICOLE, and when I was born, there was no doubt in her mind as to what to name me! Hence I got the name Nicole," say the chirpy young actress, who has Nicole Kidman-like dreams!
"My father, Ricky D'Costa, was a rhythm box player with music director Deva. Now, he is a music director in Kannada. My dad never wanted me to enter films as he thought I won't be able to withstand the pressure. However, I've always wanted to act and I did a course in acting and dancing in Mumbai. I want to do a variety of roles and make a name for myself," she adds.
Getting ready for release are two of her Tamil movies : Aarumaname and Naikutty. "Aarumaname will be released by July end. Naikutty is in its finishing stages. I'm playing a village girl in Aarumaname and a girl from the slums in Naikutty," she reveals. Ask her about a rumoured liplock scene in Aarumaname and she says boldly, "There's nothing wrong in doing a kissing scene, if the script demands it. There is a kissing scene in Aarumaname, but it's been shot very aesthetically."
Bhavana
The moderate success of Jayam Kondaan has hardly done anything to revive Bhavana's career in Kollywood, with the actress having no films in her hand currently.
The audience reaction to the film was positive and the actress had dubbed in her own voice, too!
But the smart girl that she is, Bhavana has gone back to Malayalam films. She is Pritviraj's heroine in hit director Shafi's youth film Lolipop, and will be seen wearing designer wear in it! Lolipop is said to be a feel-good entertainer in which the entire youth brigade of Malayalam cinema - Pritviraj, Jayasurya, Bobban Kunchacko, Bhavana and Roma are acting. Bhavana's looking for roles in Malayalam, where there is a shortage of heroines. Actresses who make a name in Malayalam cinema migrate to Kollywood after doing one or two films. So Bhavana's hoping to have the best of both worlds.
